The Number 1 Reason You Are Not As Fast As You Would Like To Be

You’re not squatting heavy. That’s it. You’re squatting for reps “because it will tone” you. You’re afraid squatting heavy will put weight on your body (it likely will), which will slow you down (it likely won’t, and even if it does, there are things to do about it). You’re afraid of bogeymen sold to you by an ill-informed fitness industry. Squatting heavy: Increases the amount of force you produce with each foot strike, making each stride more efficient and powerful. Thickens your ligaments, protecting you from running injuries. Increases (likely) your ratio of fast-twitch to slow-twitch muscle fibers, which is what runners need. Is beneficial even for long -distance runners (see above reason regarding force production). In short, if you’re a runner and are trying to hit a PR, get squatting. Don’t know how? Contact me.
